As a former fleet Manager of Yachting Partners International and long-time superyacht captain it is with great pleasure that I can commend a yard that not only did an excellent job but also did it with great attitude, at a fair price, on time and with excellent workers.

    Dear Nito and Alex,

As a former fleet Manager of Yachting Partners International and long-time superyacht captain it is with great pleasure that I can commend a yard that not only did an excellent job but also did it with great attitude, at a fair price, on time and with excellent workers.

I am very happy with both the works carried out on my Oyster 435 and also the way in which they were done. The attention to detail and also both the shipyard managers kindness and helpful attitude made the yard period a pleasure. While in the yard I observed the 180 Ton travel lift working also on the Spanish customs fleet lifting high speed 30M jet boats and providing service and Classification quality works on the fleet. This was the second year I observed this and shows the confidence of the authorities in the yard. I would have no hesitation in recommending this as a very cost effective stop for both the Oyster fleet of any size as well as superyachts within the range of the travel lift operation. I would estimate that the cost compared to UK yards both in labour rates and productivity is well worth the Journey to Xufre.

In addition the area surrounding the yard provides an excellent cruising ground to enjoy with owners and guests.

Having managed refits on many large yachts in yards throughout Italy, Spain and the United States I am happy to say that this was one of the most enjoyable experiences.

My thanks to the whole team at Xufre, from the Managers Nito and Alex to Nola in the office and the full work crew, especially Kienso whose attention to detail on awl grip was excellent.

    Yours Aye

    Nigel Studdart

The Varadoiro (boatyard) de Xufre, run by Nito – a lovely man who speaks excellent English and offers a car to clients for their occasional use – offers a 10% discount off haulout and storage to OCC members, and an additional 10% for payment up front. The place has an excellent reputation.
